We've Been Busy All Spring

January 7th: First Day of Classes

Walking on Florida State's campus makes getting to class a little easier. Especially when 749 West Jefferson is right across the street from Landis Green, the heart of campus. Shoutout to the all the sisters who were on the President's and Dean's list for making between a 3.5-4.0 GPA for the spring semester!

January 31st: Spring Bid Day

Welcome home, Spring class 2019! This spring we welcomed the new pledge class at the Delta Zeta mansion with desserts and a live DJ. We knew we would already love you all so we covered everything (including ourselves) with pink and glitter. We're so thankful for you guys.

February 7th: Galentines Day

It has been a long tradition of Delta Zeta to spend Valentines with both each other and our Panhellenic sisters. Every year, our Panhellenic Delegate fills the house with donuts, balloons and endless laughs.

Febuary 27th: Big Little Reveal

Our greek families got a little (big)ger as we held our Big Little Reveal at Westcott Fountain. The little sisters turned around to find their forever bigs standing behind them. We are so thankful to have such great mentors to become someone's big sister.

March 1st-2nd: Dance Marathon

Every Spring Delta Zeta partakes in the biggest philanthropy on campus, Dance Marathon. While participating in dance marathon, our sisters stand for over 20 hours to raise awareness for pediatric diseases. In total, Florida State raised $2.21 Million For The Kids! Shoutout to our sisters who was on this year's Dance Marathon executive Board including Lucy (merchandise chair), Tori (fundraising chair), and Shelby (high school programs chair). If you would like to get involved please visit FSU Dance Marathon's website.

March 9th: Dad's Weekend

Every spring we alternate which parents to invite for a weekend full of activities. This year, the dad's were lucky enough to come to Tallahassee to experience what it is like to live as a true Seminole! Delta Zeta hosted a Barbecue lunch catered by Jim Milts. We then headed to the Dick Howser Stadium to watch the Florida State Baseball team beat Virgina Tech in a double header. Thank you to our sister, Caitlyn for putting together such a memorable weekend with our favorite guys.

March 27th: How to Find a Date in 10 days

For our first date function we were challenged to find a date in 10 days inspired by the 90's movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. Thanks to our social chair, Gabby, we had ourselves a night at Clyde's with lots of satin dresses

March 28th: Line Dance

This spring, our Line Dance team participated in a philanthropic competition to raise money for the Victim Advocate Group. Delta Zeta's theme was Thank You, Next inspired by the popular pop song.

March 30th: Sisterhood Retreat

Our sister Lauren, the sisterhood chairman, organized our big retreat to Six Flags in Georgia. Waking up at 4 AM is a little easier when we know we're going to spend the day enjoying rollercoasters and fried food with each other.

April 2nd: Miami Vice Date Function

We all know that Miami will always be second to Tallahassee; however, we decided to dress up like it for a night. For this date function we dressed in lots of 80's themed clothing and headed to The Standard.

April 5th: Relay for life

The Alpha Sigma Chapter participates in Relay for Life every year. With the help of our delegate, Katherine, our team raised $1,500 that contributed to the total of $231,600. Also, our sisters Bri and Michelle was on the Relay for Life executive board this year. You guys are stars! Here is FSU Relay for Life's Website.

April 7th: Hearing Week

This spring the sisters of Delta Zeta held two philanthropy events in efforts to raise money for both the Starkey Hearing Foundation and the FSU Speech and Hearing Clinic. The first day we held our second annual Delta Ziti event with unlimited pasta and breadsticks. Later in the week, we held a Silent Disco event with live DJs. Not only did everyone dance the night away, but the event also raised awareness for the hearing impaired. Just from the one week we raised $8,522! For more information on the events here.

April 15th: Easter Palooza

Delta Zeta, not only donates to a national philanthropy, but the Alpha Sigma Chapter gives back to a local organization- the Florida State Speech and Hearing Clinic. This year, our sisters put on a Easter Palooza for the children who are a part of the association. We provided an Easter egg hunt, pizza, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. If you would like to get involved please visit the Speech and Hearing Clinic's Website.

April 19th: Formal

For our final event of the semester, we went to Level 8 for our Formal Function. When we weren't dancing, there was a Superlative competition that included giving out awards for Miss Alpha Sigma, Miss Panhellenic, Most likely to Spill the Tea, Most likely to be the Next House mom and many more.
